San Diego is a great city for dogs. The weather makes it easy to be outside year ‘round. The famous Dog Beach<\/span><\/a> is a place where pups and their favorite people can run around on the sand and cool off in the water. There are plenty of dog-friendly outdoor shopping and dining establishments at Seaport Village, and fun on-leash hiking opportunities at Balboa Park. If you plan ahead, you can even bring your dog to watch a Padres game from the aptly named “Barkyard.”<\/p>

This month, we’re highlighting some of our dog-friendly partners and special events in San Diego. Here’s what we want you to know.<\/p>

Friday, April 5: <\/p>

The Animal Pad Dog Rescue Event: Puppies & Jiu Jitsu<\/strong><\/a><\/p>

On Track Wellness, 3445 Midway Drive, Suite L\/M, San Diego, CA 92110<\/p>

5–7pm <\/p>

Meet adoptable dogs from The Animal Pad and learn self-defense at this fundraiser. $15 of each $20 ticket goes to support the organization.<\/p>

Meet adoptable dogs outdoors on a patio and indoors at Prohibition Lounge. If you buy a drink at Prohibition, some of the money will go to support The Animal Pad. More good news: The Farmer’s Dog will be giving out free samples.<\/p>
