This Family Fosters Dogs That Need Medical Care

Learn all about Jessica’s Foster Tails—and their foster fail, Syrax.

By The Farmer's Dog | July 14, 2025

Jessica’s Foster Tails is a Georgia-based rescue that fosters dogs in need of medical care. Jessica Yoshimura; her husband, Tobias; and their daughter, Kayleigh all chip in to care for these dogs and help them find forever homes.

We recently posted a video of the family in action on our Instagram. It tells the touching story of the family’s foster fail, Syrax:

The video showcases five fosters who were looking for homes at the time (two of whom have already been adopted), and explains how Syrax found her new family after being hit by a car and left abandoned on the side of a road.

“She was a sad little dog,” Jessica says of Syrax’s condition after surgeries to treat her broken legs. The family took her in, and fed her The Farmer’s Dog—helping her to gain needed weight and recover from her injuries. While the family usually sees the dogs they foster off to different forever homes, their bond with Syrax was too strong to be denied and they adopted her permanently.

“My hope for the rest of the foster dogs in my care,” Jessica says, “is that I can get them all better—and they can find their forever families, and I can take another one from the shelter that really needs me and do it again and again.”

If you’re interested in adopting one of the dogs in the video, reach out to Jessica’s Foster Tails via this link.
