It’s how we use them that makes all the difference. Our recipes are made to human-grade safety standards, never ultra-processed, and always designed for your dog’s long-term health.
We've combined decades of veterinary science with common sense to make smarter, healthier dog food.
Our team of Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionists® uses decades of research and clinical insights to formulate recipes that provide optimal nutrition for dogs at every stage of life, from puppies to seniors.
Our recipes are complete and balanced according to AAFCO standards, and all our recipes have safe levels of macronutrients for healthy dogs, based on the National Research Council. Additionally, we check every batch for quality and safety before it leaves our facilities.
Not only do we use human-grade ingredients, but everything we make is to human-grade standards. As part of this standard, we rigorously test for harmful pathogens and cook in human food facilities that are sanitized between uses to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
Our food avoids the risks associated with ultra-processing: including high-heat manufacturing temperatures, the use of preservatives, and damage to the ingredients’ natural nutrients. Our minimally processed approach leads to fewer AGEs (Advanced Glycation End Products) and helps your dog better absorb nutrients.
Our fresh food is fully cooked—not raw. It’s gently cooked at a temperature that eliminates any potential pathogens, but is low enough to preserve natural nutrients, moisture, and flavors.
What do we mean by human grade?
The answer is simple—quality and safety. Human-grade standards are the highest we can adhere to in making fresh, healthy dog food. Every step of our sourcing, cooking, packaging, and storage process meets the same strict safety standards as those for human food.
USDA-inspected facilities
All our facilities hold a USDA Grant of Inspection and have USDA inspectors on-site to ensure safety.
Rigorous testing
Every batch of food undergoes multiple safety checks to test for harmful microbes and pathogens.
No cross-contamination
Our human-grade facilities are sanitized after every cooking run to reduce the risk of cross-contamination and allergen exposure.

A novel protein is one from a new source that your dog hasn’t had before. We offer pork and turkey, which are less common in traditional kibble and can be “novel” for many dogs. These are both good options for dogs with certain protein sensitivities.

Every dog is different, and your exact plan and price options will depend on your dog(s) and their food needs, factoring in age, weight, activity, recipe choice, and more. Plans start at about $2/day, and delivery options mostly range from 1 week to 2 months of food and include free shipping. Because we deliver the food right to your door, your dollars are going towards the highest quality ingredients, and not to the mark-ups of a big retail store.
We work closely with our team of on-staff board-certified vet nutritionists to figure out the optimal calorie needs for your dog, taking into account their breed, age, activity level, ideal weight, and more. Certain dogs can metabolize faster than others, so some plans may need further adjusting.
