One of the great things about working at The Farmer’s Dog is that we get to hear touching stories about our customers’ amazing dogs. With Thanksgiving coming up, we thought it was the perfect time to share some of those stories with the world.
That’s why we’ve launched a campaign appearing in New York City subway cars and stations, sharing messages from customers who are thankful for their dogs and the difference our food has made in their lives.
Here is a small selection of our customers’ stories, plus some of photographer Sinna Nasseri’s photos of dogs just being dogs—in all their playful, cute, hairy, delightful glory. If you’re in New York and want to see more, look up during your commute!
“Max was an unexpected rescue who showed up way too skinny and quickly discovered the joy of having siblings who slip him all the food they don’t want. Before long we had a walking potato sack. Kibble wasn’t cutting it. He never seemed excited to eat. But the day I introduced Max to The Farmer’s Dog, everything changed. Now he prances behind me to his bowl, tail wagging.
Watching his excitement is one of my favorite parts of the day.”

“I’ll be honest, I have never written a review in my life or reached out to compliment a product, but my gosh, the change I have noticed in my dog is remarkable. We originally got The Farmer’s Dog for our 16-year-old dog because his teeth were having a hard time with regular food. He has been eating The Farmer’s Dog for a little over a month now and…this dog who usually slept all day now goes outside and frolics in the yard, chases squirrels, and plays.”

“Thx for checking up on Darcy. Prior to The Farmer’s Dog, she was really sickly and aging fast. Even her walks were slow. She’d always been so happy and lively, it was heartbreaking to see her sleep constantly. After a few months of The Farmer’s Dog, we began to see changes. Her energy was back, there was a spring in her step, and she could hardly wait for meals! It’s been a year since we switched and she’s like a puppy again.”

“Back in 2022, I had a discussion with my aunt about how unhealthy Porkchop was due to her weight and that overfeeding her and always giving her cookies was bad for her. We decided to change her food to The Farmer’s Dog, and I wanted to share that she has lost about 12 pounds and her vet said her weight loss is the best thing we could have done for her in her senior years. She is 12 now and nobody believes me when I tell them.”

“On a complete side note, The Farmer’s Dog significantly played a monumental role in Lola’s life. We put her on the food at 11yrs old, and I give a lot of credit to The Farmer’s Dog for her being the way she is at the age she is. Two years ago I told my wife I bet Lola would make it to 15. Once we get there I will reassess, but in her mind she definitely still thinks she’s 10 or 11.”
