Best of Digest 2023

Our most popular articles of the year include a guide to extending a dog’s health span, a primer on training dogs in recall, a profile of a World Series champion who lives with four Yorkies, a behind-the-scenes look at the dogs of our Super Bowl commercial, and an interview with a dog-behavior expert.

Choosing our five favorite Digest stories from 2023 was almost impossible. This was, after all, the year we wrote about the joys of having a dog in the city, how to date when you have a dog, and whether dogs can tell the difference between breeds. It’s when we helped dogs get over their fear of balloons, busted the myth of “littermate syndrome,” and chronicled a day in the life of a vet tech. But we know you’re busy walking your dogs, playing fetch with your dogs, and rubbing your dogs’ bellies. So, if you can only catch up on five items before starting your 2024, here’s what we’d recommend. Enjoy, and see you next year!
